Learning MacroPhotography

I have found that macro photography is much different than normal photography, having a different kind of focusing, a different kind of lighting, a different kind of subject. with all of this said and done, here are some of the pictures that i have taken so far. I still have a lot of learning but i am starting to get the hang of things.

A New Member of the Photography Family

Today I acquired a Macro Lens. Saturday is my 20th birthday so my parents decided to get me a new lens for my camera but didn't know what I wanted. I had already done the research needed to figure out what I would need so now all I needed to do was go and find the place that would sell them. I looked at a Wolff Camera, a Best Buy, Showcase, and ended up finding it in a Wolff Camera downtown Atlanta. The man there was very nice and he was extremely knowledgeable. Once the decision was made that the Macro was plenty good enough and it worked with my camera.

Metro Atlant Market

Today was a great day. This weekend was the weekend for Metro Atlanta Market, an arts and crafts show. An acappella group came in and sang some songs and they blew everyone away. The group's name is Octave and their website is octave-atlanta.com. I would check them out.

The Introduction

Hello, my name is Nick. This is my first post and thus I must introduce myself. I am a college student who likes to do photography on the side. I picked up photography when my family bought a Cannon Rebel for our trip out west. It was then that I realized how much i loved taking pictures and the weeks and months following, I would borrow the camera and go all over the house, taking pictures of just about everything that I could think of. I finally bought my own camera, a Sony a100, and have loved it ever since. I am learning more and more as I find people around me who are more experienced then me and I am constantly seeking to hone my skills and style, trying to find where I fit. Thus is my story and I hope that you enjoy the pictures to come.
